This is what happened when I decided to do a combo drift onto my friend's driveway; the front decide to go wide and tap a tree ... Only my ego was bruised from the incident.

What do you mean it decided to go wide? You mean it snap-countersteered? Because my Audi does that too if I'm not careful. Rule of thumb for AWD drifts: don't countersteer. Just point the wheel exactly where you want to go and stay on the throttle, haha.

Well, I took a right in an intersection and got a decent powerslide, but it didn't rotate to the left as much as I expect when I tab the brakes to aim for the driveway, so it went a few feet wide a brushed the tree right next to the driveway. Good thing there's no curb.

Ah...sokka...
So....the tree was on the inside of the corner, then? And when you go back on the throttle, it didn't rotate back to the left to correct the slide enough?

Oooh....ok.
Next time use throttle lift to transition instead of just braking. Turn, lift off throttle, back on throttle to increase rotation, then brake moderately to control slide speed.

Yeah, I'll bondo it when it's warmer, gotta grind out some rust from the passenger door too while I'm at it...
But I just realize that the corner signal is cracked :( Gotta be more careful with my hooning from now on..
